HS2 one step closer to Euston

31st January 2017

The HS2 Bill has nearly passed through Parliament and is on track to be signed into law shortly. This will conclude a three year process and will formally authorise the route from London to Birmingham to be constructed. For Euston, the real work is only just beginning. The HS2 Bill outlines the footprint for the new station, and over the course of this year, the designs and the planning brief for the station will be developed.

As a major transport hub at the heart of our business community, Euston can provide a once in a generation opportunity for business growth and regeneration. Over the past year, Euston Town has engaged closely with HS2 Ltd and Department for Transport officials to help make this a reality. We are seeking commitments for designs that improve access to the surrounding communities, a planning brief focused on local regeneration, and maximised opportunities to support local business throughout construction.

To support these aims, we will be holding a series of four Business Forums with HS2 Ltd. The first of these panel-led events will take place on 22nd February from 12 – 1.30 pm at the National Temperance Hospital, and will explore the ‘Euston Masterplan’. Speakers including Stuart Westgate, HS2 Programme Development Director, will outline their visions for the future of the station and the surrounding area, and how we can work together to make this a reality.

All paying BID members are invited to join us – please email info@eustontown.com for more info or to RSVP.
